Valedictory Program of Besant Premier League [BPL] 2024-25

The valedictory ceremony of the Decennial Edition of the Besant Premier League (BPL), organized by the Alumni Association of Besant Evening College, was held on Sunday, 6th April 2025, at Padua Grounds, Mangaluru. The event marked the grand culmination of a spirited tournament that brought together alumni and current students, reinforcing bonds through sportsmanship and fellowship.

The program was presided over by Ms. Lalitha Mallya, President of the program and correspondent of Besant Evening College, who expressed her delight at the enthusiastic participation of the alumni. In her address, she praised the organizing team for their dedication and highlighted the significance of such events in nurturing lifelong connections between alumni and their alma mater.

The Chief Guest of the event, Sri Vedavyasa Kamath, Hon’ble MLA of Mangalore South, commended the Alumni Association for creating a vibrant platform that seamlessly combined nostalgia, sport, and community bonding. He encouraged alumni to continue their active involvement, contributing to both personal and institutional growth.

The tournament featured six competitive teams and concluded with an exciting final match. Team Dominators, owned by Shamith, claimed the championship title, while Team CSF, owned by Ananth, finished as runners-up after a spirited performance. Individual accolades were awarded as follows:

Best Batsman: Shodhan

Best Bowler: Sourabh

Best All-Rounder: Puneeth

Winners and runners-up were awarded trophies and cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances and exemplary sportsmanship.

The event was graced with the presence of Dr. Parashuram G Malage, Principal of Besant Evening College, Mr. Gopalraddy Ritti Head of the Department of Commerce, Ms. Amitha Kumari B, Convener of the Alumni Association, Mr. Pradeep P President of the Alumni Association, Mr. Pranav Ganesh, Secretary, Mr. Mohith Shetty, Treasurer, along with staff, students, and supporters.

The event concluded with a warm vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of BPL 2025 — from organizers and volunteers to players and well-wishers. The day stood as a testament to the enduring legacy, unity, and pride of Besant Evening College.
