Suicide is Preventable 2023

Women’s cell of Besant Evening College, in association with IQAC has organised a guest lecture on “Suicide is preventable” in honour of World Suicide Prevention Day in the college Auditorium on September 13, 2023. Dr. Rameela Shekar, Mental Health Professor and trainer at manashanthi counselling, Research and training centre was the resource person. She interacted with students and discussed ways to identify the sign of anxiety and despair. She also emphasised the value of human life, the interaction between parents and children. The necessity to practice patience with those in need and how to manage mental stress. The Principal Dr. Lakshminarayana Bhat delivered the presidential remarks, Dr. Prasanna Kumar M.G Co-ordinator of IQAC has proposed the vote of thanks, Professor Gopal Reddi Ritti, the head of department of commerce, presented a token of gratitude to the guest speaker, Mrs. Amitha Kumari, the program’s convener, staff and students were present Varsha Vasanth Shetty from III B.Com compared the programme. The programme began with an invocation lead by Meghashree from II B.Com.
