Guest Lecture on “Goods and Service Tax (GST)” by C.A. Nandagopal Shenoy

P GDepartment of commerce arranged a talk on Goods and Service Tax on 12thAugust 2017 for M com students. One of the leading Chartered Accountants inMangalore CA Nandagopal Shenoy was invited as resource person for the same. Theprogram began with an invocation by the students of M.com. Dr Laxmi NarayanBhat, Principal welcomed the guest and the gathering. Mr. Shreenidhi, II MComStudent, introduced the guest. The session was then taken over by the resourceperson. He started his talk by briefly explaining about the various aspectsprevailing before the introduction of GST followed with detailed informationabout the various aspects pertaining to GST. He explained about theregistration process covered under GST, availing the benefit of Input TaxCredit, impact of GST on the various sectors of the society etc. Talk was followedby an interactive session with the delegates in which various queries relatingto GST was clarified by the resource person. Shri Nagar Narayan Shenoy,Correspondent of Besant Evening college gave a token of gratitude , Dr LaxmiNarayan Bhat, Principal, Dr Vijay Kumar, HOD of M.Com and Shri Ishwar Poojari,HOD of Commerce were present on thedais. Students and faculty members of Besant Evening college, Students ofUniversity Evening College and St. Aloysius Evening college were also present.The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Praneetha of It M.Com. Ms. Shreya Shanbogh compeered theprogram.
