World Geneva Convention Day Celebrated by Youth Red Cross

World Geneva Convention Day 2025 Organized under the Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit, Besant Evening College, Mangaluru

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of Besant Evening College, Mangaluru observed World Geneva Convention Day on 12th August 2025 in line with the call given by the Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch.

The programme began with a pledge administered by Mr. G. Harish Pai, YRC Programme Officer, and Assistant Professor department of Commerce, wherein all the students of the college solemnly took the pledge to uphold and practice the core principles of the Red Cross – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

Following the pledge, students were addressed on the importance of the Geneva Convention and its relevance in today’s world to safeguard human rights and dignity during conflicts.

The event witnessed the active participation of all the students of Besant Evening College, Mangaluru, under the banner of the Youth Red Cross Association.

Students engaged in discussions on the humanitarian contributions of the Red Cross Society and the values behind the Geneva Convention.
