Session on Intellectual Property Rights

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Research and Development Cell of Besant Evening College jointly organized an awareness session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on 21st May 2025 at 4:15 PM in Classroom G2.

The session aimed to sensitize students about the growing importance of protecting intellectual creations in today’s innovation-driven world. The resource person for the event was CA Nandan Rao, who delivered an insightful and comprehensive talk on various dimensions of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. He underscored the relevance of legal protections for creative and innovative works, particularly in academic and entrepreneurial spheres.

The program commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Harish Pai, who emphasized the crucial role of IPR in modern education and business. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Nachiketha, a student of 3rd B.Com, expressing gratitude to the speaker and the organizing committees for the enlightening session.

The event was well-received and proved to be an enriching experience for all attendees.
