Out Reach Programme- Medical Camp for Construction Workers

Besant Evening Collegeorganised a special camp for “Construction Workers” consisting of a talk on“Awarenessabout benefits for them from the government”, with the help of the Labour Departmentand CWFI, Mangaluru and a Medical Camp from KMC, Attavar, Mangaluru on Sunday,30th August 2015. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. D.G Nagesh,Assistant Labour Commissioner, Labour department. He also applauded the BesantEvening College for organising such an unique programme for constructionworkers. The resource person of the program Shri Yogish Jappinamogaru,secretary CWFI, Mangaluru spoke at length about the different kinds offacilities and benefits available for construction workers from the governmentand appealed to the workers to take membership of the “Karnataka ConstructionsWorkers Welfare Board”. He appreciated the efforts of the Besant EveningCollege in organizing a camp for Construction Workers. The Guest of Honor ShriSunil Kumar Bajal CITU, stressed on the need for the workers to make use of thebenefits provided by the government to them. He said Besant Evening College wasmaking consistent efforts to reach out to the neglected sections of society. ThePresident of the Besant Evening College, Parents Teachers Association and alsothe president of the Civil Contractors Association presided over the functionand praised the efforts of the management, staff and students of Besant EveningCollege for programmes of this kind to reach out to the neglected sections ofthe community and for organizing a programme of this nature for theconstruction workers. FourDepartments from KMC, Lungs, Skin, Orthopedic and Eyes participated in theMedical camp.
