Orientation Program for Rangers and Rovers

The Orientation Program of the Rangers and Rovers Unit of Besant Evening College and Besant Women’s College was held with great enthusiasm and reverence on 19 September 2025 at 3 pm in M.Com auditorium.

The program commenced with an Invocation, seeking the blessings of the Almighty, led by the students of Besant Women’s College.

Mrs. Latha Hebbar, Convener of the Rangers Unit, Besant Women’s College, delivered the Welcome Address and introduced the Resource Person.

As a gesture of love and respect, a Floral Welcome was extended to the dignitaries, followed by the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing knowledge, purity, and positivity, marking the auspicious beginning of the program.

The highlight of the event was the Orientation Session, conducted by Mr. Pratheem Kumar K.S., District Secretary of The Bharath Scouts and Guides, D.K. District, who also inaugurated the program. He inspired the students with his insightful talk on the values, discipline, and service promoted by the Rangers and Rovers movement. He further enriched the session by presenting a PowerPoint presentation and showcasing the various activities of the movement carried out across the nation, giving students a broader perspective of its impact.

As a mark of gratitude, a Token of Appreciation was presented to the Resource Person by Dr. Parashuram G. Malage, President of the program.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C., Principal of Besant Women’s College, then addressed the gathering, followed by the Presidential Remarks delivered by Dr. Parashuram G. Malage, Principal of Besant Evening College. Both speeches emphasized the importance of Scouts and Guides in nurturing leadership, discipline, and service-mindedness among students.

The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Sushma, Convener of the Rangers and Rovers Unit, Besant Evening College. The entire program was compèred by Mr. Abhishek K. Bhat, Final B.Com student, who ensured the smooth flow of the event.

Outcome: The Orientation Program was a memorable event that marked a new journey for the Rangers and Rovers Unit, inspiring the students to actively participate in the noble cause of service, discipline, and leadership.
