National Seminar on Transforming India: Issues and Challenges

The seminar ANVESHAN- National Seminar on Transforming India: Issues and Challenges was inaugurated by Sri Y.V Balachandra, the Chief Operating Officer, Karnataka Bank, Mangalore. In his inaugural address he said that the country is marchingtowards the development in all spheres. Prof Mallikarjunappa, Academic advisor,Department of Commerce, Kerala Central University, Kannur was the keynotespeaker. Heexplained various eye opening schemes for transforming India. The inauguration of the National seminar waspresided over by the President of WNES, Sri KudpiJagadeesh Shenoy. The secretary of WNES, Sri Devananda Pai, the correspondent of thecollege, Sri Sathish Kumar Bhat, seminar conveners; student convener, Mr Anup were on the dais. The seminar began with an Invocation by Ms Deepa. The Principalof the College, Dr Lakshminarayan Bhat introduced the guests and welcomed theguests and the august gathering. The director of the seminar, Dr. Vasappa Gowdaexplored the conceptual overview of the seminar and justified the need fororganizing the seminar in the present day context. The inaugural functionwas concluded with the expression of gratitude by the director of PG Studies inCommerce, Dr Sridhar Joisa. Ms Apeksha, I MCom compered the programme.

In thevaledictory programme . Dr Udaya Kumar, Principal,University College, Mangalore was the chief guest. Sri Annappa Nayak, theVice-president of Women’s National Education Society presided over thefunction. Sri Sathish Kumar Bhat, the correspondent of Besant Evening College wasthe guest of honour. Dr Lakshminarayan Bhat, the Principal of the Collegewelcomed the guests and the august gathering. The chief guest Dr Udaya Kumarsaid that the seminars like ANVESHAN are eye openers to all the educationalinstitutions. Besant Evening College has set a model by creating a platform to conductsuch a paper presentation competitions for the PG students to showcase theirwriting skills and also helps them to learn about research writing which is theneed of the hour in higher education system. Mrs Padmaja lead the programme with an invocation
