Industrial visit to Friends Vineer Plywood, Baikamapady

TheDepartment of PG Studies in Commerce organized an industrial visit to FriendsVineer and Ply, Baikampady, Apple ply and Nallu Farm Feeds, Baikampady.Eighteen students and three faculty members participated. The team firstvisited Friends Veneer & Ply and was given all the details about thecompany by Sri. Pavananjaya, General Manager of the company. He showed theactual working that is carried on in the industry and there was an interactivesession between Pavananjaya and the students. The team then went to Apple Plywood company. This company produced Ply wood sheets and also sheets made fromthe waste produced during the process of Ply Wood production. The variousprocesses through which the wood goes through to produce one sheet of Ply woodwas explained in detail to the students and doubts regarding it was cleared byone of the employees of the industry. Finally the team went to Nellu FarmFeeds, Baikampady. This company produces bird feed. The students were shown thevarious procedures that are carried on to convert the raw corn and soya to amixture of both such that it can be fed to birds.
