Industrial Visit 2023

The Department of PG Studies in Commerce organized an industrial visit to Ibbani Farm Stay, Yellur, Udupi and Shree Malthidevi Enterprise Agarbatti Unit on 02nd May 2023. Journey of the team started from the college at 9.00 am and reached Ibbani Farm at 10.30am. Ibbani Farm Stay was started in 15th of March 2020. The entrepreneur of this is Mr. Kishan Rao and it is managed entirely by K. Guruprasad Bhat. The purpose of this start up farm stay is to give village experience with unique features to the people of city. It was an attempt to give a taste of rural life of India. Students were guided by two staff of Ibbani, Mrs Vani and Mrs Mamatha, who explained in details about the lifestyle of people living in the village. They conducted various games which are played by village kids.

From Ibbani the students were taken to Shree Malthidevi Enterprise Agarbatti Manufacturing & Supplies. It was a small scale industry manufacturing Agarbattis. This was started by Mr. Manjunath in the year 2021 with a capital of 18 lakhs which was taken by a scheme PMBGP which provided loan of 25 lakh. He purchases raw materials from Bangalore and Chennai. There are 9 employees in his unit and there are also 6 machines which are operated by his employees. The working hours of this enterprise are 9 am – 5 pm (i.e 8 hours). They supply their products to companies like Isiri and to some of the nearby shops.

Outcome: While returning back students said that this industrial visit will help them in their future life. It helped to get to know the rural life and also the facilities provided by the government to become entrepreneurs.
