Guest Lecture: “Healthy Social Media Habits – Effective Use of Social Media Platforms” by Youth Redcross

The Red Cross Unit of Besant Evening College organized a guest lecture on 15th May 2025 titled “Healthy Social Media Habits – Effective Use of Social Media Platforms.” The session aimed to raise awareness among students about the positive and safe use of social media.

The resource person for the event was Mrs. Roopshree K.P, Head of the Department of Chemistry, Assistant Professor, and Youth Red Cross Programme Officer at Canara College, Mangaluru. She delivered an engaging and insightful talk, highlighting the impact of social media on youth and guiding students on cultivating healthy digital habits. Her address emphasized the responsible use of various platforms while ensuring mental well-being and personal security online.

The session was well-received by the audience and proved to be informative and beneficial. Both faculty and students were present and actively participated in the event.

The program was convened by Mr. Harish Pai, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce.
