Campus Cleaning Programme - Organized by Extension and Outreach Cell

The Extension and Outreach Cell of Besant Evening College successfully organized a Campus Cleaning Programme on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, as a part of its continuous efforts to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness among students and staff.

The programme was held under the leadership of Prof. Gopal Reddy Ritti and Prof. Saritha Reena Dsouza, Staff Conveners of the initiative. Ms. Nidhishree Shetty, a student of the college, served as the Student Convener, actively coordinating and motivating her peers throughout the event.

The cleaning activity covered the Besant Evening College Campus, ensuring a thorough cleanup of the college environment. Volunteers, including students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff, enthusiastically participated. Participants were divided into groups and assigned areas such as classrooms, corridors, staircases, surrounding premises, and the garden.

The programme began with a brief orientation session, during which the conveners highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic campus. Safety measures and cleaning procedures were also explained.

Equipped with gloves, brooms, dustpans, garbage bags, and other cleaning materials, the teams worked systematically and effectively. The initiative not only maintained campus cleanliness but also fostered a sense of responsibility and environmental consciousness among students.

The programme concluded successfully with active participation and positive feedback from all involved. The Extension and Outreach Cell sincerely appreciates the efforts of all contributors who made the event impactful.

This initiative reflects the college’s strong commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and the holistic development of its students.
