49th Annual Day Celebration

Besant Evening College celebrated its 49th Annual Day on 3rd June 2025 with grandeur, bringing together students, faculty, alumni, and dignitaries to mark yet another year of growth and achievement.

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. H. Devendrappa, Registrar (Evaluation), Mangalore University, who delivered an insightful and motivational address. The program was presided over by Smt. Lalitha G. Mallya, Correspondent of the College.

Smt. Lalitha G. Mallya, in her presidential address, lauded the efforts of both students and faculty in maintaining the college’s reputation for academic excellence and holistic development. She emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and a strong value system in shaping successful individuals. She also highlighted the role of education in empowering youth and urged students to be lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and torchbearers of positive change. Her address was both encouraging and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

The prize distribution segment followed, with Ms. Srividya B. announcing the names of students who excelled in academics and sports. Their achievements were met with applause and appreciation from the audience.

The function commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Prasanna Kumar M.G. This was followed by the Annual Report presented by the Principal, Dr. Parashuram G. Malage, which detailed the college’s academic milestones, extracurricular accomplishments, and future aspirations. Ms. Prithvi M.R., Union Secretary, presented the Student Council Report, showcasing the vibrant student life and activities on campus. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Mohd Mustaf, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, participants, and supporters.

The formal program was skillfully emceed by Ms. Rachitha Shetty, final year B.Com student, ensuring a seamless flow of proceedings.

The event then transitioned into a lively informal cultural program, anchored by Mr. Manvith and Ms. Freeda Elza Abram. A series of energetic dance performances, soulful music, and engaging dramatics showcased the creative talents of the students and added a festive spirit to the evening.

The 49th Annual Day was a memorable celebration of talent, dedication, and community, reaffirming Besant Evening College’s commitment to excellence in education and student development.
