The Department of PG Studies in Commerce
organized an industrial visit to Ibbani Farm Stay, Yellur, Udupi on 08th
October 2021. Sixteen students and three faculty members participated in the
same. Journey of the team started from the college at 9.00 am and reached
Ibbani Farm at 10.30 am. Mr Kishan Rao, Proprietor, Ibbani Farm Stay, gave
information about entrepreneurship and qualities of successful entrepreneur. Ibbani
Farm Stay was started in 15th of March 2020. The entrepreneur of this is Mr.
Kishan and its managed entirely by K. Guruprasad Bhat. The purpose of this
start up farm stay is to give village experience with unique features to the
people of city. It was an attempt to give a taste of rural life of India.
Guru Prasad, Manager, Ibbani Farm Stay, explained about impact of "Impact of Covid-19 on new start up
business." It was inaugurated on 15th of March 2020 and within one week
span on 21st March 2020 there was a lockdown and all the bookings which have
been done got cancelled. And they had their first visitor on 25th December 2020
after the lockdown. Till March 31st they continued with the business and March
was the peak period for them. They had nearly 1000 to 1200 guests. And then
later 2nd wave of covid came and now the business is slowly taking over.
